  • Are you a psychologist or covered under psychology in my extended health benefits plan? 

No, Esanju is not a psychologist. Esanju is a Registered Psychotherapist, and Canadian Certified Counsellor, which some plans cover.  Since each plan varies, please contact your provider prior to commencing sessions.

  • Is financial advising the same as financial therapy?

No. Financial advisors give specific advice and guidance on money management, investing, tax and estate planning and similar functions.

Financial therapy focuses on helping people to better understand their relationships with finances and how finances and beliefs about finances impact their relationships with others. One of the primary goals is to reduce money related stress and improve overall wellness. Esanju also works with members of family businesses helping them to navigate the specific challenges that arise in that context.

  • Are your services covered under OHIP? 

No, counselling services are not covered under OHIP.  You will however receive receipts for each session for income tax purposes.

  •  Will I be billed for missed sessions?

In the absence of 48 hours notice, missed sessions are billed. Inclement weather and medical emergencies are taken into consideration.

  • Are parents and caregivers consulted with prior to working with children? 

Yes, prior to seeing a child, Esanju has an initial intake session with parents or caregivers.
